Woohoo Pick-ups!!


Changelog First!

  • Fixed Cloud Generation
  • Fixed Cloud removal. Now they will stay on screen until they reach the far left
  • Added Main title on the Title screen
  • Added pick-ups
    • Currently pick-ups add 5 points and speed up the scroll by 1
  • Added sound effects. Not sure if these will be final
    • Jumping
    • Falling in the pit
    • Pick-up
  • Moved all existing levels up a difficulty level from their previous state
  • Added 10 easier levels at the beginning

Still so much more I want to add. I feel the sound effects do a little extra for the game at the very least. The clouds was an interesting fix... Not entirely sure what I was doing before, but I am able to have them load and unload properly now.

Doing the pick-ups for some reason was a challenge at first, they would load in, but they would slide a bit at first before coming to rest. But even with this, the player couldn't grab them. Then looking at the scene again, I realized that I set it as a base Node 2d, not a Sprite.... silly me. So slight modification and fix, and viola! Candy pick-ups are now available.

Eventually, I want these pick-ups to be saved between runs as these are what will be used to unlock skins, backgrounds, and so forth. One step at a time and things are coming together!

Obligatory Glenn update, this boy. I tell you, this boy! He gets the zoomies daily!! He is peeing like a champion and playing with all of his favourite toys. He even plays fetch with us with some of the squishy toys, which he loves so much. His meows sound like the coo of a pigeon and he has been sooo sweet lately, cuddling with us when sleeping on the couch and just being such a great cat. I cannot express how happy I am to have him back at home and feeling better.
